Graduate Programm in Railway Operations (f/m/d)

Are you a recent Bachelor or Master graduate ready to elevate your career? Newrest Austria is looking for enthusiastic graduates to join our Trainee Programm in the Field Railway Operations with the expectation and goal to move abroad.

In Austria, Newrest works on behalf of ÖBB on the night trains - the ÖBB Nightjets - and takes care of the service and operational processes on board. The aim of the Graduate Program is to offer young talents an experience within the Group to acquire the skills they need to become managers abroad. Since the launch of this program in 2014, more than 80% of the graduates are now participating in a management position and have joined the Newrest adventure.

Onboarding:

• Basic training and multiple tours on our NightJets

• Get to know all key departments and participation in training sessions

• Learning the basics in railway operations

Responsibilities:

• Contact person for our digitalization and optimization projects

• Independently developing processes and improving internal workflows

• Collaborate closely with Operations Planning and IT to ensure seamless integration

• Assisting in the organization of operational training courses

• Create internal training materials in collaboration with ÖBB

• Document and actively contribute to functional meetings

• Provide regular on-site support and expertise across branch offices and operational locations

• Supporting the analysis an optimization of next-generation trains in close working groups with the ÖBB

Requirements:

• Relocation within the group after 1 year is mandatory

• Bachelor's or Master's degree is required

• Background in project management or railway technology is an advantage

• Positive and open demeanor

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Organized and structured approach to work

• Flexibility for business trips to our external locations

• Interest in change and digitalization, paired with solid technical understanding

• Excellent MS Office skills

• Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken

The salary for this position is EUR 2,739.63 gross per month based on 38.5 hours/week plus diverse allowances.
